A weekly trip to the supermarket is one of modern life’s monotonous essentials.
But a new online shopping service Thomas Farms Kitchen (TFK) aims to minimise the ordeal of the weekly trip to the shops and take the hassle out of home cooking.
TFK allows consumers to order fresh Australian produce straight to their doors and follow easy recipes at the touch of a button.
Based in Adelaide, the business has recently launched its packing and distribution centre at Enterprise Court, Mt Barker.
They generated the idea of an educational online shopping and cooking experience and teamed with Australia’s largest family owned processing company, Thomas Foods International, to launch the concept.
The meals are trialled and tested by chef Nigel Rich, who ensures each dish can be created in under 30 minutes.
About 11 different meals are uploaded to the website each week and consumers can either choose their own meals or select from the kitchen’s two-person or family meal plan.
The ‘choose you own’ meals start from $12.50 per serve and include delicious gourmet dishes that seem fancy but can be cooked and on the plate in minutes.
They include the classic kangaroo fillet with cranberry, the macadamia risoni and the seared rump steak with a Mediterranean salad and the simple prawn pasta with basil and tomato.
All produce is Australian and is ordered in exact batches, so if the recipe includes 200kg of kangaroo fillet, half a clove of garlic, and 15g of cranberries, then these amounts will be ordered.
The produce is delivered straight to your doorstep and if you’re not home it’s stored in foam esky with ice-packs.
The weekly meal plans are an economic way for couples and families to enjoy dinner.
The two-person meal plan for three meals start at $69.90 per week and the family meal plan (two adults, three small children) for three meals per week starts at $118.90.
TFK delivers to all metropolitan Adelaide and SA regions, and interstate to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Deliveries are $11 for orders under $75 and orders over this amount are free.
“Our motto is to eliminate the monotony of daily meal organisation by providing the easiest, most convenient meal solution using fresh Australian grown produce,” he said.
TFK has also launched an online market store offering a range of boutique local produce including, Woodside Cheese Wrights cheese, Bird in Hand wine, Prancing Pony beer and Beerenberg and Maggie Beer products.
The click of a button is now the newest and most convenient way to shop and cook.
TFK will do the rest.
